Born in Digby, N.S., the daughter of Dr. Guy Victor Turnbull and Mrs. M. May (Roop)Turnbull,


She was an educator for 39 years, having taught most of that time at Bridgetown Regional High School, she also taught in Rochester, N.Y., New Orleans, LA., in Aylesbury, U.K., in Washington, D.C., and in Birmingham, U.K.


She was an active member of Bridgetown Players, the Bridgetown Lawn Bowling club and the Wednesday afternoon group. She was also an artist and a rug hooker. She was a beloved neighbour,loved and respected as a teacher..Mary Elizabeth was admired and much loved as a friend and incredibly loved as a mother. She is be deeply missed.


Surviving is her son, Christopher “Chase” Duffy; grandson, Jeffrey Prime; nephew, Christopher (Cindy) Turnbull; nieces, Pam (Bruce) Halverson and Lauren (Mugsey) Mugford; four great nieces and a great nephew.


She was predeceased by brother Archer (Joan) Turnbull
