Nevins Ernest Amero, 81, born April 5th, 1945 in Weaver Settlement, passed away suddenly at home on May 13, 2026.
Nevins was born in Weaver Settlement. His parents were Bernard and Sadie (Gavel) Amero.
Nevins worked all his life even after retiring. He worked for himself in the woods, Home Hardware, Lewis Sawmill, 340 Co Op where after he retired. Even after retiring you could not keep this man away from doing what he loved, “In the woodpile”. He had a love for planting cucumbers and tomatoes.
Nevins had a great impact on everyone he met along his life. He enjoyed his drives to Berwick, Tiverton, Brier Island and just his commutes to Digby. He was a very active man right up to his sudden passing.
Nevins was a family man. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love was felt by all and will continue to be felt by all in years to come. He was a devoted man to God and his family. He always said “Lord Willing”.
Nevins was a man of faith. He was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and a love for Fords.
Nevins leaves behind his loving wife, Gladys Amero of 60 years; his children, Tabitha (Wayne), Jacqueline (Duane), Veronica, Joseph (Shirley), Crystal (Shawn), April (Derek); dear to his heart grandchildren, Shelby, Alexander (Alex), John Paul (Megan), Darla (Waylon), Brock (Leslie), Joseph (JD) (Denise), Zachery, Jericho (Hanna), Samantha (Corey), Josh, Cheyanne, Dominick and Julia; his great grandchildren Yeshua, Eisha, Brynlee, Shiloh, Owen, Hershey and Wesley.
Visitation will be Thursday May 21st, 2026 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, with funeral Friday May 22nd, 2026 at 2 pm all from South Range Christian Church, South Range, Digby Co. N.S. Reception to follow.
