Hudson, Bessie Viola (Westhaver) formerly of Port Wade, passed away peacefully 12 May 2026.  She was born to Roy Clifton Westhaver and Lottie Mildred (Apt) Westhaver, 17 May 1924. 

Born at home in Port Wade.  She grew up and attended school in Port Wade.  Moved to Digby in 1940.  She worked in a restaurant first as a dishwasher, then became a waitress.

She moved back to Port Wade and married Frederick (Ted) Hudson, February 27, 1946.

Bessie worked at Casey Fisheries, Victoria Beach for 16 years.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, square dancing, and just enjoying a visit with good friends.

Predeceased by both parents, son Randel (Randy); daughter-in-law, Ann (Tidd) Hudson, daughter-in-law, Lynn (Cross) Hudson Coleman; sisters Mary (passed away age 13), Muriel Sarty, brother-in-law, Chester Sarty, along with nieces and nephews.

Bessie is survived by grandchildren Dylan Hudson, Taylor Hudson; sister-in-law, Marjorie Hudson; cousin, Myrtle Sanford; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11am June 27th, 2026 in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Deann Carter officiating.  Interment will be in the Port Wade Cemetery.  Donations in memory may be made to Annapolis Community Health Centre.
