James Kenneth "Jimmy" Halliday Obituary

On May 7, 2026, our beloved son and brother, James “Jimmy” Kenneth Halliday, 57, of Hillsburn, Annapolis County, suddenly passed away at home with his loved ones by his side.  Born on July11, 1968, he was the son of Kenneth and Faye (Fredericks) Halliday.  He is survived by his siblings, Shirley (Ed) of Kingston, Debbie of Hillsburn, Michael (Tammy) of Alberta, Mary (Timmy) of Hillsburn, Diane (Grafton) of Grand Manan, Patty (David) of Bridgewater and Janet (Trevor) of Annapolis Royal; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  He was predeceased by his infant brother Dennis Ross; grandparents, Walter and Helen Fredericks of Tupperville and Moreland and Lydia Halliday of Hillsburn.  Jimmy was and always will be an angel sent from heaven above, always kind hearted, willing to give anybody a helping hand when needed.  Jimmy had a very special love for animals, especially his dog Cheeko and his cat sky kitty.   As well, he would always sit on the deck and feed the crows and seagulls every morning enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee.  He loved the neighbors’ dog Rocko and would take him on daily walks or just stand outside to talk to him.  Jimmy loved doing any job outside like gardening, landscaping and cutting trees.  He loved the outdoors.  Jimmy did so many jobs in the community, for many people and many friends, he is and always will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone in need and he did it with a smile and sincere heart.  Jimmy had such a love for playing crib with anyone that would play with him, but he loved his nightly game of crib with his mom.  It became a competition.  Jimmy had many jobs throughout his life, fishing and clam digging were his favorites’. Jimmy loved living on the Bayshore, he said he never wanted to leave the “hill”. The loss of Jimmy is being felt by the whole community, by all those who knew and loved him, especially his family.  Visitation will be held 7pm to 9 pm Monday, May 11.  A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal.  Burial will follow in Hillsburn Cemetery, Hillsburn and a reception will be held 3pm in the Parker Cove Baptist Church.  The family would like to give a special Thank you to the Annapolis Royal Volunteer Fire Department, EHS and RCMP.  Donations made in Jimmy’s memory can be sent to the Annapolis Royal Volunteer Fire Department, 5 St. Anthony Street, Annapolis Royal, NS B0S 1A0 or etransfer.arvfd@gmail.com or Thalia Barn cat Rescue – info@thaliabarncatrescue.com
