Cheryl Lynn Armstrong Obituary
Armstrong, Cheryl Lynn – 61, of Caledonia, Queens County, Nova Scotia, passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, on Monday April 27, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl, who despite the challenges of battling cancer, never lost her spirit or her wonderful sense of humor, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A small funeral service will be held at the West Caledonia Catholic cemetery on Monday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather for a reception at the North Queens Firehall to celebrate Cheryl’s life and share memories together.
Cheryl adored all animals, especially horses, and in her early 20’s she moved to Ontario to study equestrian coaching at Kemptville College, which was renowned for its equestrian programs, and received her level 1 Equine Canada coaching certification.
She doted on her nieces and nephews and taught many of them to ride her beloved horses at her farm near Manotick, Ontario.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support Hinchinbrook Farm, a local farm that helps provide equine-assisted activities and therapies for persons with challenges and special needs so that they can experience the joy of riding and caring for horses. Donations can be sent via e-transfer to info@hinchinbrookbrookfarm.com or by mailing a cheque to Hinchinbrook Farm, c/o Patty McGill, PO Box 13, Blockhouse NS B0J 1E0 or to the North Queens Nursing Home 9565 Hwy 8 Caledonia, Queens County, NS B0T 1B0 or use the link below.
Cheryl is predeceased by her father Charles “Charlie” and brother Shane. Survived by her mother Patricia of Caledonia, NS; sisters, Deanna and Shawna, both of Caledonia; niece, Hannah (Elijah) and great niece, Elisha and great nephew, Ben; nieces, Grace, Lara, Oakley; nephews, Milo (Cecil), Shane, Owen, and Reese.
