Johanna Anna Maria Young Obituary
“To live in the hearts, we leave behind is not to die” – Thomas Campbell
Our family is heartbroken to share that Johanna Young, our beloved Mom and Nan, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and quiet strength.
Johanna was born November 29, 1942, in Zundert, Holland to the late Joseph and Maria Herygers.
Johanna worked for years at United Elastic and then finished her career doing what she loved, cooking wonderful meals to feed residents at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown.
Johanna loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was talented beyond measure, creating beautiful quilts, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and decorating cakes. She loved to play cards and enjoy her many hummingbirds on her veranda in the summer.
Johanna was predeceased by the love of her life and husband, Bryan Young. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Ron), Connecticut; her son, David, Youngs Cove; her daughter, Loretta (Eddie), Hampton; her grandchildren, Ronnie Jr. (Vanessa), Bryan (Jess), Christian, Joe (Alijah), Nick, Nicole, Jessica (Zach), John (Erica), Emma (Cody) and Chelsey (Shawn) and her 11 great grandchildren.
Johanna was one of 16 children. She was predeceased by several of her siblings and is survived by the remaining members of her loving family.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A burial and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
