Ralph David Apt Obituary

Apt, Ralph David – 70, of Annapolis Royal passed away March 6th, 2026 in Valley Regional Hospital with family by his side. Born in Montreal but moved to Port Wade when he was young.  He worked at the Department of Transportation for several years; was the curator of the legion museum and was a high-ranking sea cadet in his earlier years.  Ralph loved his children and grandchildren; was a wonderful and loving father. He always had a friendly face, could and would talk to anyone about anything whether he had the same opinion or not, making friends with all different types of people, young or old.  He didn’t let life get him down.  He enjoyed history, playing darts, trivia and a good game of crib.  Friends and family describe him as kind hearted, understanding, loving, easygoing, jolly, gregarious, extremely witty with a great sense of humour.  Some called him a local celebrity and Annapolis’ soul. Ralph is survived by daughter Amanda (Rick), Armstrong, BC; son David, Kelowna, BC; sister Susan, Annapolis Royal; brother Gary (Sandra), Cambridge; grandchildren Zoey, Penny, Paige, Kyle, Jenna and Trista.  He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Pauline (Ellis); brother Donald and sister in-law Christine. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Regional Hospital for the care and kindness that he was given while there.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, March 18th, 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Annapolis Brewing Company in Annapolis Royal.
