Hazel Isabelle Johnson Obituary
Hazel Isabelle Johnson - May 15, 1919 – March 8, 2026
On March 8th, 2026, after nearly 107 years here on Earth, Hazel went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Heaven.
One of 12 children of Elias and Mary-Anna (Clements) Mitchell, Hazel is survived by her sister Catherine Tucker, her sons Kenneth (Gloria) Johnson, Barry (Tove) Johnson, Phillip Johnson, 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren, 4 Great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Samuel St. Aubrey Johnson, her sons Samuel Jr., Paul, and Tommy and her daughter in-law Catherine Johnson. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Seville, Evelyn, Edith, Elizabeth, Beatrice, and Leona, and her brothers Elroy, Vernon, Harold and Edward.
Hazel was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, gardener and a formidable baker. Her apple pies were legendary! She was active member of the Inglewood United Baptist church and Inglewood Community Club. For as long as she was able, she loved her daily walks “up the road” to visit her Nieces Donna and Jean. Those times were very special to her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Saunders Rest Home Bridgetown for taking such amazing care of her in her later years as well as the staff of the Transition Ward at Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Orchard Court in Kentville.
Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held 6-8pm June 11th with a Celebration of a Life well lived held 11am, June 12th, 2026, both in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Reception to follow at the Bridgetown Legion
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Inglewood Community Club or a charity of your choice. Online Condolence may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
