Rae Emily Fredericks Obituary

Fredericks, Rae Emily – 59 of Clementsvale passed away March 1, 2026 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born July 22, 1966, in Annapolis Royal, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Myrtle (Bright) Bailey.


Rae worked as a cook at the Old town pub in Annapolis Royal for many years. She was a member of the Digby Ground Search and Rescue, for 25 years. Working on the Swiss Air site, she was one of the first searchers to find pieces of the crash on shore. She also volunteered her time doing traffic control for Wharf Rat Rally for many years. Rae loved to spend her time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved to crochet, making blankets and many different characters for her family; playing board games of any kind; and when she was able tending to her garden of very large hosta plants and black roses.


Rae is survived by her husband, Leslie; step son, Alan (Klarissa), Clementsvale; daughter, Rae Elizabeth (Alex) Byrne, Digby; six grandchildren, Parker, Rylee, Emma, Eddy, Allura, Tarra; sisters, Martha, Lillian; brothers, Howard, Stewart, Paul, Timothy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Crystal, Gretchen; brothers, James, Martin.


Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A memorial service will take place 1-4pm March 14, 2026 at the 74th Crusaders Club, 104 Bike Club Lane, Moschelle, NS. Interment will take place at a later date.
