It is with heavy hearts that the family of Annette Marie Dumbrell announces her passing on March 1st, 2026 at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville.
Born in Lawrencetown, NS, om January 31st, 1941, Annette was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey and Etta (Whitman) Shearer. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lynda; sons, Dougie and Ronnie; brothers, Gary (Bev); sister, Susan (Jim). Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Gordon, Bill, Jack, Wayne and Paul; sisters, Shirley and Norma. Annette served in the Airforce. She lived and raised her family in Montreal and Hamilton, Ontario, moving back to Nova Scotia in 1980’s. Living in Lawrencetown she became a member of the Legion Branch 112, where she served as a former president and volunteered, during Remembrance Day services, making pizza and burgers for dart tournaments, played darts. She was an active in the Lions, Lawrencetown doing numerous suppers. Annette attended church regularly.
Annette had two special friends Cindy and Anita who watched out for her, a special thanks to them. Also special thanks to nieces Holly and Sherry who were with her in her final hours, also thanks to the doctors and nurses at VRH.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Following Annette’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Legion service will be held 2pm, Friday March 6, 2026 at the Lawrencetown legion Branch 112. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown at a later date.
