Wanda Darlene Rowlings Obituary

ROWLINGS, Wanda Darlene,

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of wife, mother and grandmother on January 8, 2026, at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Wanda was born on December 4, 1959, in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia to the late Leon Longmire and survived by her special mother Ardena (Porter) Longmire. Wanda was survived by her husband Curley Rowlings of 34 years. Loving mother of Corbin Rowlings (Megan Hersey), Adrian Rowlings (Karley Titus), new grandson Caine Allen Rowlings, and grand-dog Parker Rowlings. Also survived by her siblings, brother, Rick Longmire, sisters, Sue Ellen (Greg) Marshall, Amber (Stephen) Kay. Sister-in-law Christina Longmire Rowlings and brother-in-law John Rowlings. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and their children. Also survived by many aunts and uncles. Wanda was predeceased by her father, Leon Longmire and grandparents Borden/Pauline Longmire and Earl/Ellen Porter, special nephew Matthew Marshall. Along with late aunts and uncles.

As her husband, every time I look at this beautiful picture of my loving wife, my heart all but stops, my tears flow like a raging river. She is my best friend, my loving wife and life partner that I will adore for the rest of my life. She was both strong and hard working, she took great pride in whatever she did. She never shared her pain as she wanted to protect her loved ones. She is the mother of our two sons, which she was proud of, respected and loved endlessly. She so loved Corbin and his partner Megan Hersey, Adrian and his partner Karley Titus. She loved her new grandson of Megan and Corbin, Caine Allen. She will miss her walks with her grand-dog Parker, which she loved dearly.

Wanda had a long loving career of waitressing/managing Newmans Restaurant for John and Beth Garland for 25 plus years. Later she worked as the bookkeeper for the family business Double D and at Fairway Insurance until she retired.

On Wanda’s behalf the family would like to thank the special nurses from Valley Regional Hospital and VON services. We would like to thank Reverand Bob Elliott of Hillsburn Baptist Church, Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Double D Bakery. We would like to give a loving thank you to special lifelong friend Roxanne and David Ryan, Phyllis Longmire, Phillip Young, Amber Kay, Sue Ellen and Greg Marshall as well as other friends and family.

A visitation will be held 6-8pm Tuesday, January 13, in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral Service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the Hillsburn Baptist Church, Hillsburn, with Reverand Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Hillsburn Cemetery, Hillsburn. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to any local animal shelter or Annapolis Community Health Centre.
