It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Jean Wilcox, Clementsport, announces her passing on December 24, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born July 6, 1947, in Halifax to the late Thomas and Laura (Fletcher) Wood. 

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and volunteer. She was a wonderful listener who always made time for those who needed her. Throughout her life she was active in church activities, teaching Sunday School and Youth Group, acting as treasurer, baking for events, and serving on countless committees. She loved her church family and took joy in hearing Allan sing. When her children were young, Barbara could be counted on to help with every school function. Later in life she was a volunteer with the Palliative Care program, the Annapolis Area Food Bank and she volunteered with Allan for over 20 years with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed rug hooking and created beautiful pieces that will be treasured for years to come. She loved her garden, lunch dates with friends, and no one baked a better pie. Barbara treasured the simple pleasures of life, most of all her time with her husband, children and grandchildren. We were so lucky to have her, and she will be sadly missed. 

Barbara is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Allan; son, Kirk (Cathy) Wilcox; daughter Jana (Keith) Amirault; daughter Jillian (Shawn) MacAulay; grandchildren Sophie (James); Laura (Mackenzie); Miriam (Dan); Isaac (Kennedy); Libby; and Seb; and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Poppy.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Wallace and infant sister Minnie. 

A private service will be held, and interment will be at the Woodlawn Baptist Cemetery in Digby.
