I met Barb in 1987. Jana and I were 14.
I last saw Barb at a chance encounter at Flight of Fancy in Bear River a couple of years ago. She was with the girls and they were on a post-lunch adventure. I was so pleased to see Barb ‘living her best life’ with a group of friendly, smiling ladies.
The time before that, I saw her in the cab of Allan’s red and white truck, a passenger driving down St George Street on Annapolis Royal. It made me think of Kirk and Cathy, circa 1989.
I have Barb’s Chicken Hurry’ recipe. I will make it this week in her honour.
Barb and Allan are responsible for one of my favourite human beings. ♥️
I send my love to Allan. There are some people in my life who call me Tessica because of Allan. (Allan was never completely convinced that Tess was enough of a name, so Tessica came into being). I’m so very sorry for your loss.
I send my love to Jill and Kirk and their families.
And I send my love to Jana and her family. You have lost a treasure, but what a legacy she leaves.

Kirk and Cathy, I was so sorry to read of Mrs. Wilcox's death. Mothers are very special, and I know that you will miss not being with her physically, but she will always be in your thoughts and memories. It was wonderful that Isaac and Libby had the chance to spend many happy times with their their grandmother. My deepest condolences to the Wilcox family. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

So many memories growing up, Barb taught me Sunday school but will most fondly be remembered as “ that Mom” in our community. She never missed a school function and she was always the Mom who would be available after school and waiting with a wonderful snack if we couldn’t go home on the bus. In my adult years Barb never passed me by without stopping to ask how I was and reminisce about “ when we were kids”. Truly a special and kind soul and a huge part of my early childhood memories. My heart goes out to Allen, Kirk, Jana and Jillian.
