It is with heavy hearts that the family of Angela Bliss Campbell share her passing on November 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Despite her illness, she met each day with positive energy, enthusiasm and a love for life that never wavered. She handled every step of this journey with such grace and strength, and instead of making the illness her main focus, she was able to find hope, love and joy every day. It was this positive approach to life’s uncertainties that has inspired all of us to continue to live our lives as she had.
Angie was born on February 25, 1971 in Middleton, NS, and was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and loving partner to her dear Mathew. She is predeceased by our wonderful mother, Janet Campbell.
She spent her youth and school years growing up in Bridgetown. After graduating from Bridgetown Regional High School, she went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at Acadia University. Her singing career began at Upper Clements Park in 1989, where she was the original Clementine the Carousel Girl. She delighted everyone with her beautiful singing voice, and our favorite thing to do was listen to her and the other talented musicians at the end-of-the-day show. Her love of singing led her to a lifetime of entertaining and performing through dinner theaters, plays, numerous choirs, such as the Acadia Choir and the Tattoo Choir, and more recently, sang with ‘Christmas with Friends’ at Acadia University.
Not only did Angie distinguish herself as an accomplished performer, but she also became a much-loved teacher. Angie opened the first reading recovery program in the valley, called Valley Read, where she was responsible for countless student success stories over the past 20 years. It is impossible to put into words the impact that she had on her students and parents, and her legacy continues to live on through her students’ achievements.
Angie was very active – she was an avid runner and also enjoyed biking, swimming, snowshoeing, road trips with her friend Shawna, overnight adventures with her special ‘Clutch’ of girls, and some grueling back country portage trips with Mathew. Angie loved her family and her family of friends. She was one of the most social people we know, with many special friends, who are too numerous to name, but you know who you are and the place you held in her heart. While we all will mourn her loss, more importantly we will celebrate her life and the joy and light she shone on everyone around her.
Angie is survived by her father, Richard Campbell, and her siblings, Richard (Marian), Peter (Judy), Heidi (Marven) Taylor, and her other half, identical twin Susanne (Shaunessey). She was the fun aunt of Emma, Meghan (Patrick), Kyle, Maisie, Ben, Mollie, Nick, Hannah, Liam, and Aylish. Angie is also survived by her devoted partner, Mathew Welsh, of the last 10 years.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home in Bridgetown from 6 – 8pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 2pm at the St. James Anglican Church in Bridgetown with Reverand Julia Ford and Reverand Jaunita Barteaux. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Angie’s memory to the St. James Anglican Church in Bridgetown or charity of your choice.
Our family is very grateful to the many family, friends, and medical professionals who have supported Angie throughout her journey. Angie was able to face this journey with strength, clarity, hope and grace thanks to everyone’s support. Online condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com.
