Jaqueline (Jackie) Savage, 61, formerly of Yarmouth, N.S., passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at Tideview Terrace in Digby, with family by her side.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on August 13, 1964, she was the daughter of Eric and the late Patricia Savage. Her early years included schooling in Australia and Scotland before the family moved to Canada in 1980. She graduated from high school in Middleton, N.S.

After graduation, Jackie attended Nursing School in Yarmouth, N.S., where she met her lifelong friends Bill, Paulette, and many others. She began her nursing career in Swan Hills, Alberta, where she met her partner Shane. They married in 1993, in Ireland. Jackie loved Ireland and lived and worked there as a nurse for many years before returning to Canada in 2011. 

Jackie was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who took great pride in her work. She cared deeply for her patients and continued nursing at The Meadows/Tidal View Manor until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Both The Meadows and the town of Yarmouth held a special place in her heart.

She was predeceased by her infant sister Juliet, her beloved mother Patricia, her grandparents, and many treasured cats. She is survived by her father Eric (Amherst); brother David (Manitoba); sister Sharon (Jeff, Amherst); adored nieces Teanna (Sherwin, Hillsburn) and Terissa (Inti, Halifax); and her cherished great-niece and great-nephew, Dryden and Amelia (Hillsburn). She also leaves behind many dear friends who were like family: Pete, Joyce, Ella, and Anna, and Bill, Anne, Wendy and Paulette. 

Jackie’s hobbies included her love of decorating for Christmas and Halloween, cross-stitching, photography, music, and puzzles.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday November 30, 2025, from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Middleton, N.S. Donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to a local cat rescue of your choice. Special thanks to the staff of Tideview Terrace for their excellent care.
