Robert Joseph (Bobby) Pettipas, 81, of Deep Brook, Nova Scotia passed away on November 4th, 2025 at Digby General Hospital.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Clementsport Legion Branch 122 in Clementsport, Nova Scotia on November 22, 2025 from 2-4 p.m.
Bobby was born in Ashmore, Digby County, Nova Scotia to John and Marie (Melanson) Pettipas on February 6th, 1944. After leaving public school, Bobby went through automotive directed skills training, including a welding ticket, to obtain his Automotive Technician Certification. He worked as a welder at the Halifax Shipyards and CFRS Cornwallis. Bobby was an entrepreneur, establishing Fundy Cab taxi service, which operated until 1980. He then began R.J. Pettipas Enterprises, focused on all things automotive including buying/selling, repair and salvage. His business operated from Deep Brook for the next 43 years. Throughout his adult life, he also leaned on his skills operating heavy equipment, especially in the long-haul, cross-border trucking industry.
Bobby loved being in the woods. He received the Queen Scout designation from Boy Scouts of Canada at 16 years old. His favourite activity was tree harvesting, be it for building a camp or for firewood. He loved spending time with friends, exploring forest trails, hunting, four wheeling by Jeep, ATV, or Skidoo. He was an member of the Digby County ATV Club and a longtime member of the 74th Crusaders. He enjoyed playing Sequence and Cribbage with friends.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra (Keen,) daughter Michelle (Kevin) Wight, son Robert (Cynthia) Pettipas and beloved dog Chance. He is also survived by his sister Priscilla (Frank) MacInnis, grand-children Keshia (Jacob) Hawkins, Dylan (Calista) Pettipas, and great-grandchildren Allison, Lauren Hawkins and Waylon Pettipas as well as nieces Tanya McGraw (Russell) and Family and Shelley Baillie (Jeff) and Family. He is preceded in death by his Father, John Pettipas, Mother Marie Pettipas and daughter Erica Pettipas.

Bobby was known for embellished story-telling, as he was a colourful person. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. He was truly one of a kind.
