We were very saddened by the news of Philippa’s passing.
She was a very kind, generous and strong lady. Often quietly observing, she would also make us smile with her witty sense of humor.
During our conversations she always showed interest in the lives of the people around her.
Philippa welcomed us into her home on many occasions.
Peter always had a chuckle when she would extend her hand for a seemlingly formal greeting, only to retract it with the words "You wish", pulling him into a warm and surprisingly strong hug.
We felt honored that she let us be part of the family for many Thanksgiving, Christmas and Mother’s Day gatherings. She always made sure she had gluten free gravy and a desert for me, which I never expected but made me feel even more welcomed.
Throughout the years she became our beloved “Mother/Grandma Away from Home" as which she will always be fondly remembered and loved.

Dorothy, Pam, Carolyn and families,
My sincere sympathy in the passing of Philippa, She was such a kind sweet lady and gracious hostess who welcomed everyone into her home like one of her own. Mom # 2, as she became known to me, was always interested in knowing what was going on in your life and never focussed on herself. Jill and I shared many cups of tea at her place and elsewhere and she always had that slice of fresh loaf of homemade bread waiting for us to “munch” on. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her including us. Hugs to everyone.

Dear Dorothy, Pam, Carolyn and Families,
I am so saddened by the loss of your Mom who I was honored to have the pleasure of meeting.
Your mom was such a strong lady with a quiet nature, and the love she had for you all shone through.
I loved the little stories she shared with me, as well as the poem she wrote about the quilting group. She had a great sense of humor, and it made me happy to see her laughing at her favorite shows on TV. I am definitely going to miss her.
Robbie shares in sending our condolences to each of you.
Take care, and my love and sympathy is with you.
