It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loran John Hayden on July 14, 2025, in St. John’s, Newfoundland.  Born in Annapolis Royal, on January 21, 1965, he was a son of the late Loran L. and Sandra (Sabean) Hayden. Family and friends called Loran by his middle name John but was referred to in his professional career as Loran. John spent most of his youth chasing education, after graduation from Annapolis West Education Center and moving onto Dalhousie University where he earned a spot on the Dean’s list as a student in the Physics department, after that accomplishment he returned to school and earned a degree in Computer programming, that choice lead him to a lasting career that seen him become a Senior GIS Programmer for MapDev.  Loran “John” was predeceased by his parents; both sets of paternal grandparents.  He is survived by his two brothers, Frank (Tina) Hayden, of Parker Mountain, NS and Ralph (Kemberley) Hayden of Hillsburn, NS; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank that staff at St. Claire’s Hospital for their exceptional care and efforts to bring our brother back to us, as well we would also like to thank the two funeral homes, Carnell’s, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia who worked together with us to return John home.
