Obituary of Larry Murray Cress
It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Larry Murray Cress (67) of Moschelle. Larry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 28, 2025.
Larry was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia. Larry is the son of Marilyn {Durling} Poer and was predeceased by his father Murray Lewis Cress.
Dad worked for Nova Scotia power for years and had recently retired. Although no longer working he certainly missed his work friends. Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing. Despite being sick we still managed to plant his beautiful vegetable garden with a lot of his guidance.
Larry loved his family and enjoyed face timing with his granddaughter and grandkids as well as his mom. He enjoyed visits with his family and friends especially our family potlucks. Larry loved animals and enjoyed his time with his cat “Tiny”. He always had a special place in his heart for his dogs Lucy and Meaky.
Larry was a kind and generous man and always willing to lend a hand. He was a loving husband and father.
Larry is survived by wife Freda {Carty} Cress, his daughters Theresa {Joey} Cranton, Carrie {Scott} Harrison {both} from Lake LaRose, NS; brother, Johnny Beane, USN retired, Silverdale, Washington; sister, Lisa Gibson, Steuben, Maine; half-brother, Steven Cress, Alberta; grandchildren, Shavelle Hayes, Fredericton, NB, Alexis Cranton, Lake LaRose, Brady Harrison, Lake LaRose; great grandchildren, Easton & Mason Hayes, Fredericton, NB.

We would like to thank all of the care dad received during his cancer journey including the Thoracic unit, radiation unit and cancer center at The QE11, chemotherapy unit at Valley Regional hospital, Collaborative practice, Annapolis Royal, all the local hospitals, EHS, VON and palliative care and care team. The family could have not got through this without the outstanding care dad received from everyone. We would also like to thank everyone who came to visit and called as this let Larry know how much he was loved and supported.
