Obituary of Judith Anne Isles
JUDITH ANNE ISLES
Our family has lost our favorite auntie and beloved sister Judith Anne (Justason) Isles at the age of 86. She passed away peacefully and with courage and grace at the Annapolis Community Health Centre surrounded by family on 6 May 2025. She was predeceased by her parents Pauline (Malcolm) Bullerwell and James (Eleanor) Justason, her husband of 50 years Fred Augustus Isles, her only son Mitchell Fred Isles, brother John Vance (Lillian) Justason, and special friend Wallace Weir. She is survived by brothers Malcolm (Sheila) Justason, Bruce (Shirley) Justason, Doug (Wanda) Bullerwell, Colin Justason and Richard Justason, sisters Susan ( Gene ) Hay, Dorothy Carson, nieces Jane, Erin, Lynn, Laura, Sandy, nephews Enos, Alan, Mark, Robert, Adam, Tim, Shane, Ryan and Geoff.
Judith was born in Pennfield, NB, moving to Nova Scotia once she graduated to attend St. Pat’s Business College in Digby. She was employed at Port Royal Dairy, Rolling Homes, Digby General Hospital and for 25 years at CFB Cornwallis. She lived with her husband and son on the Isles family farm in Bear River until their deaths, spending her last 16 years living in Annapolis Royal. Judith was an active member of the Bear River community and was instrumental in the establishment of the Bear River Community Health Clinic. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, animals, crafting, painting and was an avid curling fan and curler herself.
Judith and her family are grateful to the dedicated Team of Caregivers at the Annapolis Community Health Centre who provided excellent care and comfort with thoughtfulness, kindness and patience, and in particular the compassionate support provided by Dr. Stone and Dr. Hancock.
We hope Judith will be remembered by all who knew her as we will remember her, a kind, generous, caring person who we will carry in our hearts forever. Judith’s only requests were for a simple private service for immediate family and a wish that we each take every opportunity to be kind and pay it forward.
