Obituary of Sandra Henrietta Hayden

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Henrietta Hayden, 78, resident of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born October 23, 1946 in Middleton, the daughter of the late Ralph Sabean and Bessie Sabean (Wilkins). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She passed away peacefully the morning of April 24th, 2025 with family by her side in her room at the Annapolis Royal Nursing home. She was a devoted wife and spent most of her life as a fish buyer alongside of her husband Loran. In her retirement years she enjoyed going for daily drives with Loran and playing bingo with her sisters and friends. She also enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren and loved them all unconditionally and would always make room at the table for one more even when we would arrive unannounced. She leaves behind fond memories that will forever be cherished by the many people that she encountered, from making impossible pies with her granddaughters or singing lala byes to the little ones, to just excepting new members of family without blinking an eye (well maybe a wink and a smile).

She’s survived by her children, Loran John Hayden (Naomi), Frank Anthony Hayden (Tina) and Ralph James Hayden (Kemberley). Her siblings, Kenneth, Ralphy, Glendon, Gloria, Gail and Dawn; sister in-laws Phyllis and Dorothy; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Loran Leslie Hayden; great granddaughter Trinity; her parents Ralph and Bessie Sabean; siblings, Carl, Leroy, Cyril, Ian and Pearl. Her parent in-laws John “Elsworth” and Vivian Kaye (Ring), as well as her sister in-laws Nita and Susan.

We would like to thank the Staff at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their outstanding support and a special Thank you to Dr. Buchholz for being a compassionate voice in our mother’s final days, you went above and beyond, and we are so grateful for that.

Cremation has taken place, and a gathering will be held later, as per her wishes her ashes will be joining our fathers.
