Thomas Ronald Knickle – With sadness we announce the passing of a husband, father and grandfather, Thomas Ronald Knickle, age 75, on April 9, 2025, at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown.  Born in Bridgewater, on November 7, 1949 to the late Walter and Margaret (Barry) Knickle.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Marshall); son, Patrick (Tanya); daughter, Lisa; grandsons, Bradford and Mason; brother Norman (Karen); brother-in-law, Arthur (Judy) Marshall; sisters-in-law, Sheila and Mary (Walter) Davis and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by, his twin brother Terry.

In June 1967, Thomas started his 50 year career in retail, when he enrolled in the manger training program with MacLeod-Stedman Inc.  He held positions of Manager Trainee, Manager and District Manager in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He was Front Store manager at Lawton’s, Middleton and the Bridgetown Pharmasave.  Retiring after 20 years + from the Pharmasave family at the age of 68.

Tom was an active member of the Bridgetown Baptist Church, holding positions of church treasurer, trustee, finance member and greeter.  Many pieces of furniture for the church were built by Tom, including the wooden cross towering above the choir loft. All destroyed in the fire April 26, 2024.

He loved to walk, self-taught wood worker, gardener and Mr. Fixit in his workshop.  One of his treasured moments were the one on one basketball games with his grandsons.  His most beloved song right up until his passing was “You are My Sunshine” played for him on a tiny music box.  So we know that whenever the sun shines its brightest, he’s smiling down on us.

Our family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for their excellent care.

A celebration of Life will be held at the family home, 234 Centennial Drive, Bridgetown, on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1pm -4pm.  A private burial will be held at a later date.
