We were so saddened to hear of the passing of John. He was easy mannered and kind , so much like his dear dad before him. He carried his dad's smile and always appeared to have the natural "happy" ability of his dad's . My heart goes out to Marj.,their children and extended families. When I think of John , I think of him reading the power meters. Ours is in the porch and when he would read it , I can still see him politely inching his way out the door because I (Patsy) would keep talking his ear off and he needed to go back to work. John , you will be so sadly missed but Heaven got a little brighter as you made your way Home to be with loved ones that were waiting for you.

Our Deepest Condolences to the Marj & family. I have fond memories of John, when we rented a cottage on the lake. John took me fishing and all we were catching was small perch. Well we spotted a big snapping turtle and John threw it a small perch and it grabbed it. Then John reeled him in. Well we decided to take it home and play with it, after we got home we let him go and teased him a little. I remember it getting angry and grabbed the stick and bit it into and about that time me dad came along and order us to take down to the lake and let it go. After seeing the power of its jaws, we had no issues with that
When I got older into hunting and trapping. I go out and visit and he show me pictures of his catch and we talk about hunting and trapping and John always had good trapping and hunting tricks.
I remember him telling me of being out rabbit hunting and he seen fresh fox tracks, so he sat down and waited, since he heard the fox bark and knew it was most likely chasing a rabbit. It was not long he seen a rabbit run bye and then came the fox.. John had out foxed the fox and was some proud. Not many men would have the woods men skill to do this, his wisdom and skill in the woods was unreal.
I often wished and regretted that I had taken the time to visit and chat with him and Marj more, but life gets busy. RIP my friend

John was a great man. I have a lot of cherished memories from spending my childhood summers and winters at the cottage and growing up with your family. Trips to the wildlife park, and bbqs in the summertime ,to pulling us around the frozen lake on the sleds and wheelers and huge bonfires in the winter. I remember my dad (Harold) always going hunting with John and “the boys” and it was always a successful hunt. John most certainly knew where to find the deer. Your family will always hold a special place in my heart and please know how very sorry I am for your family's loss. Your In my thoughts and prayers.

Very sorry and condolences to Marj and the whole family. I have gotten to know them all well and my heart goes out to you all. I spent a few years riding the trails with John and his family on skidoo. Great times we all had.
I had to give it up but when ever they went by my place they always waved or stopped to Chat.
John never missed a chance to stop and say hello as he went by, if I was outside. We had some great conversations.
At one time I needed help with something that I couldn't do and John came right back to give me a hand, always thankful for that. John, I will surely miss seeing you go by almost daily into the woods and again on your way home. I hope your travels continue on different and new paths above. I can't believe the other day was the last time I will have seen you go by.
It is true that John and his family made extended friends feel like family. Even though I am a quiet soul that keeps much to myself, I knew I could always stop in and be welcomed. Big hugs to the whole family on the loss of John.

Marj and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was such a kind and welcoming neighbor—always with, a wave, or a helping hand. The lake and the cottage won’t be the same without him. Please know that we are thinking of you all during this difficult time. John’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will always be part of the place he loved so much. We will think of him when we fish at the lake this summer and the summers to come.
With heartfelt condolences,
Berin, Julie, Callie, and Steven MacNabb
