Obituary of Freeman Glen Potter

Potter, Freeman Glen – 90 of Parkers Cove, passed away February 21, 2025 at Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Clementsvale, he was the son of the late Frederick and Anne (Gordon) Potter.

Dad has gone home to be with Our Lord and Savior. Now with mom, Viola, who he was devoted to for 70 years. He was a long time member of Parkers Cove Baptist Church served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon. He was a sales rep in the Western Region of Nova Scotia for companies in Montreal, where he met a lot of wonderful people and formed lasting friendships. An avid outdoors man, Glen loved to spend time fishing and hunting, as well as attending to his gardens, and fruit trees. When he had a plentiful crop, he would set up a roadside stand. He always stopped what he was doing, to give his full attention to those who stopped by for a visit.

Glen is survived by his sons, Darrell (Joy), Brad (Shelley); daughter, Lana (Jerry), Jane (John); daughter in law, Gina; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Foster; several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, Glen was predeceased by his sons, Grant and Mark; sisters, Eunice, Phyllis, Eileen; brothers, Gordon, Oakley, Pat, and Lloyd.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Parkers Cove Baptist Church, with Pastor Collin McMahon officiating. A private immediate family burial will follow in Parkers Cove Cemetery. Donations in Glen’s memory may be made to the Parkers Cove Baptist Church or to The Cove Academy.
