Obituary of Lawrence Leroy Taylor

Taylor, Lawrence Leroy – Age 89, of Victoria Beach, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born in Victoria Beach, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen (McGrath) Taylor.

Lawrence was a member of the Victoria Beach United Baptist Church. Lawrence spent his life on the water and was the captain of several boats. Fishing was his life and he was well respected by his peers and crew mates. In his retirement, he was a gentleman farmer. He filled his days working and tending to his vegetable gardens, fruit trees and berry bushes. Being a Grampie to his grandsons was a real joy.

Lawrence will be missed by his wife, Ilda (Everett); son, Darrell (Marla), Stewiacke; grandsons, Travis, Blockhouse and Logan, Stewiacke; brother, Frank (Shirley) Alberta; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Mark; brothers Basil; a sister and brother in infancy.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Monday, February 17, 2025 in the Granville Beach United Baptist Church, with Rev. Deann Carter officiating. Reception to follow at the church. Burial will take place in the Garden of Peace Cemetery, Victoria Beach.

Donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to Lower Granville Baptist Church, or to the Digby General Hospital.
