Obituary of Robert Lorne Goudey

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness the family of Robert Lorne Goudey of Annapolis Royal announce his passing on February 4, 2025 at the age of 79. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years Viola, children Tammy (Trevor) and Glenn (Kim), sister Jane (Chris), grandchildren Sophie, Kaden, Paddy and Caleigh and numerous other family members and friends.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Lorne and Anne Goudey and sister Janet.

Robert was born in Yarmouth, NS in 1945. At the age of 19 he began a career with Nova Scotia Power as a lineman. With his strong work ethic, leadership qualities and the ability to guide people and connect with the community, he progressed through the ranks to Regional Manager of the Western Territory. Robert was well respected by his staff and built many strong friendships with fellow employees over his 39 years with the company.

Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He cherished his time at his hunting camp with his buddies every November. The "trail boss" as he has been described, loved sharing his passion for the outdoors and knowledge of the surrounding area. Robert loved the game of golf and enjoyed his summers at Eden and Osprey Ridge golf clubs. Although extremely passionate about golf, he always found a way to bring levity and humour to a game he so often described as "stupid!" Robert and Vi have often lived along the water and deeply enjoyed their time pleasure boating along the LaHave and Annapolis Rivers. Robert loved having his family and friends out on his boat for an afternoon of laughs and the occasional cocktail.

Robert was always a positive man and greeted everyone with a smile. He was a family man and adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He followed his grandchildren's sports and activities with a keen interest and lots of encouragement. As a husband, father, grandfather and brother Robert was always there for the family with wisdom, guidance, support or a laugh.

The family would like to sincerely thank the community of Fortier Mills for their support over the past few weeks as well Doug, Art and all of Robert's friends for their wisdom, compassion and visits.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Kaulbach Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.  Online condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
