Iris Mueller Sparenberg 1955-2021 Mueller-Sparenberg (Toegel), Iris, 66, passed away peacefully in her home June 6th after a short but tough battle with cancer. Iris was born March 13th 1955 in Noerdlingen Germany to Eduard Toegel and Lieselotte (Neubert). She studied to become a pharmacist technician in Augsburg. In her younger years she enjoyed mountain climbing, fencing, downhill skiing and travelling. She especially enjoyed vacationing in Mexico to visit her brother and his family. In 1993 she relocated from Schleching Germany to Annapolis Royal Nova Scotia with her family. Iris enjoyed gardening and beaches. She was a very proud member of Pirate Off Road Nation. You could spot her easily driving “copperhead” through town although you may have only saw a pair of hands and eyes peek over that gigantic steering wheel. Her biggest joy however were her grandchildren, Noah, Rogan and Tatjana, along with her dog Eehyore, as he was just one of the kids. Oma could always make everything fun. Taking the kids for a drive in the Jeep with the top down followed by ice cream was always something they looked forward to. We have so many fond memories to look back on. Iris is survived by her loving partner Donald Manship, daughter Sabrina Hay, her grandchildren Noah Pleasant, Rogan Mueller -Sparenberg and Tatjana Hay (Annapolis Royal), her brother Tilo Toegel and his wife Otilia, niece Saskia (Mexico), Tania Toegel, her partner Maurice and nephew, Tobias Toegel (Germany). Also many cousins in Germany. She is survived by very special friend Diane Stockwell. She was predeceased by her parents Eduard and Lieselotte Toegel. Many thanks to be dedicated to the doctors and VON nurses who have helped us on a daily basis so we could keep Iris home. Thank you to the community of Moshelle for all their love and support. As per her wishes cremation has taken place under the care and the direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A family gathering will take place at a later time. Donations in Iris’ memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
