Dear Mary, Debbie, Charles and Allen, Rick and I wish to send along our most heartfelt condolences to you and your families on the passing of Madeline. We got to know her and Irving through Ham radio and spend many memorable times with them in Port Wade and at out home. One of the most memorable was coming home in a snowstorm from a New Years Eve dance at the Canning Lions Club. I got to drive the van they were driving at the time and Irving was my navigator with Rick and Madeline as co-pilots! Lots of good memories of them both. Both Irving and Madeline will not be far away from you, because they will always be in your hearts. Memories will help you through the hard days and bring a smile when you least expect it. Madeline you will be missed by all of us here in Ottawa. We always enjoyed the time spent with you. Whether it was over music, a thanksgiving dinner or feeding the animals at Parc Omega. I got to know Madeline well when Irving her husband and dad were in the hospital at the same time room to room - we became good friends and she became my official clam shucker and she was good at it - we were both Christians so we shared our stories about the Lord also - I will miss dropping in on her but I know she was at peace with God - my condolences to all the family for your loss - Camie

I want to pass along to the family from Sheet Harbour & Area Ground Search & Rescue, our deepest sympathy to the family. I remember seeing them both at various Association meetings over the years and as has been mentioned, both were very dedicated to the Ground Search & Rescue not only for their home team of Digby, but to the Province as well. It speaks well to the commitment given of their time and energy in a cause to serve for others. That is the true heart of a Volunteer. To do without any expectation of personal gain or reward. Their reward was just knowing that they served. So know that both of your parents gave their all and have set an everlasting example and a bar very high for others to strive for. I had the pleasure of meeting Madeline last year at a music Jam and we got to be great friends through online chats over the course of her hospital stays. I also got to visit her a few times and i felt so lucky to call her my friend. I will miss our chats very much. Loved her very much. Rest easy now and sing loud up there my friend.
