Obituary of Myra Grace Gillis

Gillis, Myra Grace – 85 formerly of West Dalhousie. It is with deepest sadness and regret the family announces the passing of Myra Gillis. She passed away at the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, March 2, 2018. Myra was the middle child of the late Robert and Alinda Hudson, Parkers Cove. After growing up on the shore, she aspired to be a teacher, her last position was in Dalhousie. It was there she met her future husband, Basil. They married July 1, 1955 and became devoted parents to Darlene, Parkers Cove, Kevin, Liverpool, Barry (Cecile), West Dalhousie, Lorie (George), Drayton Valley, AB. Myra enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, quilting and reading: Good company and conversation. Besides her loving children she is survived by four grandchildren, Allan-Bradley and Alyson Clayton, and Adrian and Aaron Jackson; also two great grandchildren, Jessi-Lynn and Kylie Clayton. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Myrtle Clayton, Parkers Cove, Ruth Durling, West Dalhousie, Connie (Robert) Mouzar, Liverpool. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Basil ; brothers, Ivan , and Robert ; brother in laws, Britton Clayton, and Lloyd Durling ; son –in- law, Allan Clayton . A thank you to the staff of Kentville and Middleton Hospitals for their care and compassion. A visitation will be held 7-9 pm Tuesday, with a funeral service being held 2:00 pm, Wednesday March 7, 2018, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown, with Rev. Joel Hardy officiating.
