~~HANSHAW, LYNDA MARIE- 68, of Cornwallis, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully at North Queens Nursing Home Inc., Caledonia, Queens County, N.S. on Sunday, Aug. 6/17. Her death is grieved by her loving husband Philip John of 46 years; sons, Christopher Michael Hanshaw, Regina and Jeffrey Matthew Hanshaw (Robin),Wolfville; grandchildren, Brooke, Alexis, Emma, C.J. (their mother, Chantelle MacCullough), Tucker, Alba, Olive and her sister Sarah and many cousins and friends. Lynda's life was filled with many volunteer “jobs”, including Girl Guides, Brownies, Sparks and Pathfinders and District Commissioner. (Having 60 cartons of Girl Guide cookies in your basement is not a good thing for your waistline)!  Also Parent School Activities, Caledonia Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, North Queens Fire Auxiliary, Caledonia United Church (where she learned that if you volunteer to do a church service you have to write your own sermon), Clementsport United Church Women, Clements Historical Society and Deep Brook/Waldec Lions Club.  Also other various rewarding volunteer jobs such as instructing for St John Ambulance Courses. She had a good sense of humour, loved music, especially fiddle music, liked baking and cooking. She regretted not being able to sing in tune, loved to write poetry and tried very hard to be kind and to help people. She worked at many jobs, mostly in Health Care (PCW, L.P.N. and in Recreation) also in several retail stores which she enjoyed very much. She was fortunate to live one of her dreams of visiting Africa (Zimbabwe) for 3 months for a volunteer placement! She liked to talk as you can see, as she wrote this! She was predeceased by her mother Jessie, father Clyde, step-mother Jennie, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Ashes will be placed in the ocean by family. By the ocean was one of Lynda's favourite places! A Lions Club service will be held Friday September 8th at 6:30 pm followed by visitation from 7-9 pm in Kaulbach Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal.  A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9th at 2:00 pm in Caledonia United Church, Caledonia, Queens County, with Rev Carol Smith and Rev. Betsy Hogan officiating.  Refreshments following in church vestry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oncology Unit, Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville,  https;//interland3.donorperfect.net 13) or North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia (www.nqnh.ca) On line condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
