Lurline E Duggan January 20 1937 / January 31 2017 It is with great sadness that the family of Lurline Elizabeth Duggan ( nee Gallant ), beloved wife of the late William ( Bill ) Duggan announce her passing on January 31, 2017 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton at the age of 80. Lurline was born in Halifax, NS on January 20 1937 to the late Mae Pelham and Ed Gallant. Lurline was predeceased by her brother, John (Jack) Gallant and sister, Margaret (Peggy) Warder. Lurline was an avid and talented rug hooker, co-founder of the Bridgetown Happy Hookers, with her works of art hanging in various museums including the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Lurline also acted as the President of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Bridgetown Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. Lurline was an animal lover who took delight in having her dogs at her side and cats on her lap and above all took great joy and interest in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lurline is survived by her four children: sons, John Stuart Hannam (Janet), Michael Paul Hannam (Nancy), William David Duggan and daughter, Stephanie Duggan-Haggan (Mark) and step-daughter, Lyn Duggan (Robert). Lurline will be missed by her brother, Paul Gallant (Monique) and sister, Stepheny Watters along with 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, and Cremation Service. There will be no formal funeral or visitation arrangements. A celebration of life will be announced for immediate family later this year. An expression of sympathy in Lurline's memory as an avid reader, donations may be made to the Bridgetown Library or charity of your choice. The family would like to offer a heart-felt thank you to the staff of the Soldiers Memorial Hospital for their compassion and great care given to our Mum. Special thank you to a close family friend, Marieta Shanessy who helped with late night hospital visits and all family and friends who spent so much time with Lurline during her stay in hospital and kept her spirits high and full of laughter.
