Obituary of Roland Romard

Romard, Roland, 66 of South Range, Digby Co. passed away October 5, 2016 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Cheticamp he was a son of the late Charles and Marie Helene (LeLievre) Romard. In his early years he worked at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography and then moved into heavy construction. He worked for many local companies and for Aberdeen Paving. Roland enjoyed seeing Canada, playing cards with Judy, and his dog Molly. He is survived by his wife Ruth Phyllis (Marshall) , mother-in-law Lennie Marshall of South Range; daughter Alicia (James) Drew of Kentville, sons: Nathan (Tina) of North Range, Glendon (Stacey) Kemptville, Ont.; grandchildren: LS Raymond (Kayla) Murphy, Eastern Passage, Samantha Murphy, UNB, Fredericton; Brooklynn Romard and Jillian Romard, Kemptville, Ont. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his grandmother Esther (Bourgeois) Romard; sister Odette (Eugene) Richard and brother Patrick Ulysses.Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday from the South Range Christian Church and where funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Mark Elley officiating. Interment will follow in the South Range Cemetery. Donations in memory may be sent to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Fund or to the Valley Regional Health Foundation.
