After a short stint as a building contractor, Bill returned to school and received a diploma in Social Work from the former Maritime School of Social Work. He subsequently graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts and Education and from Dalhousie University with a Master of Social Work degree. Bill was employed in the area of mental health as a marriage and family counselor in mental health clinics and private practice. He was an ardent sportsman, playing hockey in the former South Shore Hockey League and on several Maritime championship teams. In his spare time, he coached a Liverpool junior fastball team that won the Maritime championship, going undefeated for the season. He also helped organize and promote ladies softball in the Annapolis Royal area where a pitcher he developed went all the way to pitch for Team Canada. Bill was past president and ardent member and promoter of the Annapolis Royal Golf Club for which he received a lovely painting of the Augusta golf course in appreciation from the members. He also loved to write and was proud of his accomplishment in writing the music and lyrics to Dance with Me my Darlin’, the longest musical played at the King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal.
