Obituary of Elsie Aldora Stanton

Stanton, Elsie Aldora – 79, formerly of Port Wade, passed away in Digby General Hospital, January 13, 2016. Born December 17, 1936, in Port Wade, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alberta (Weir) Taylor. Elsie was a devoted wife and mother, and also the head of their business, ‘Dave’s Fresh Clams’. She is survived by her husband, Carmen; sons, David of Port Wade, Chuck of Karsdale; daughters, Marilyn (Larry) Rhyno of Bridgetown, Heather (Robert) Wade of Granville Ferry, Tammy (Charlie) Stewart of Annapolis Royal; daughter in law, Diane Stanton; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (David), Marjorie (Milton), Grace (David), Mildred (David); brothers, Stewart (Lorraine), John, Lloyd (Sue); several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Ernest; sister, Alice; one grandson, one great grandson. A visitation will be held 2-4pm Monday January 18, with a funeral service 2 pm Tuesday January 19, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Legassie officiating. Burial will follow in Port Wade Cemetery. Donations in Elsie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Nova Scotia Diabetic Association.
