Lowe, Lillian May - 92, of Digby formerly of Clementsport, passed away on April 5, 2011, in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born in Clementsvale on November 30, 1918, she was the oldest daughter of the late Arthur Church and Florence Gladys (Earley) Potter. In the late 1950's, she and her husband ran Lowe's Store and Canteen in Clementsport. Later, she was employed at Stedman's, Annapolis Royal, Milford House and she retired from Canex, C.F.B. Cornwallis, in 1983 where she had been a clerk at the "Groceteria" for 20 years. A resident of Clementsport for most of her life, Lillian was a member of the Clementsport United Church and U.C.W. and the Clementsport Good Neighbours Club. She enjoyed reading and playing Bridge and other card games. Her grandchildren called her "Diamond Lil" as well as Nana. She was known for her hand made quilts, especially baby quilts, and knitting. She is survived by her daughter, June (Wendell) Trimper, Clementsport; sons, John Jr. (Linda) Lowe, Clementsport and Harry Ronald (Barbara) Lowe, Quispamis, N.B.; five grandsons; two granddaughters; five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; brother, Roy (Aileen) Potter and sister, Clara Isles, Clementsvale. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, John; infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth; brother, Wilfred Potter; sisters, Marie Wright and Edna Wamboldt. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Friday, April 8, in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. The funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, April 9, 2011, with Rev. Peter Atkinson officiating. A reception will follow the service, all from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Interment will be in Clementsport United Church Cemetery, Clementsport.
