Taylor, (Yerxa) Ethel May - 86, Bear River. On Februaury 16, 2011, in Digby General Hospital Ethel May (Yerxa) Taylor went to be with her Lord. Born on March 30, 1924 in Mouth of Keswick, New Brunswick, she was the third child and only daughter of the late Moses and Ella (Hagerman) Yerxa. Ethel was the loving wife of the late Glendon Ellsworth Taylor. Ethel was born and raised in New Brunswick and although she relocated to Nova Scotia as a young wife and mother, New Brunswick would forever be her "home". Ethel began her working career during the 2nd World War at the MacLellan Shoe Factory in Fredericton. It was during this time that Ethel met her sweet soldier boy from Victoria Beach, Nova Scotia. They were married on December 9, 1944 and began their life together surrounded by Ethel's family in New Brunswick, while their first two children were born. They relocated to Victoria Beach in the late 1940's and continued to reside in Nova Scotia were their remaining four children were born. Over the years Ethel enjoyed many trips across the bay to visit family and in later years looked forward to further travels over the water to Prince Edward Island to visit her son Keith and family. A wonderful Christian, Ethel was a member of the Bear River United Baptist Church, were she faithfully attended and participated in many aspects of Christian service. Ethel was a loving wife and mother, a kind and supportive mother-in-law and a true friend. She was a considerate neighbor who connected with everyone she met. As well, she was a wonderful grandmother to 13 and great grandmother to 15 lucky children, who will remember fondly the fun times spent among other things, having picnics and adventures with their "Nan T". Ethel was a living example of the golden rule and leaves as a legacy to her family the rewards of a life well lived. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, James; son-in-law, Eddie Peck; daughter-in-law, Elaine (Robar) Taylor; brothers, Guy and Albert; sister-in-law, Violet.
