SPURR, Elizabeth "Betty" J. - 69 of Perotte, passed away suddenly on January 21, 2011 in the V.G. Hospital, Halifax. Born in Dunmore, Antigonish Co., N.S.; she was the daughter of the late Russell and Annabelle (Malcolm) MacKay. Betty was a member of St. Mark's and St. Luke's Anglican Church Guild and enjoyed going with Rev. Ruby Todd to do home communions. She enjoyed being a community volunteer, she worked in the food industry, loved to cook, bake, knit and reading. She loved her family as much as her pets. Betty is survived by her loving husband Henry, her four children; Angela Buckler (John), West Dalhousie Rd., Shelley Theriault (Douglas), Perotte; Deanna Oliver (Barry) Parkers Cove; Darryl (Tara) Dartmouth. Beloved grandmother to Silver Buckler (Nathlie Boudreau), Scott Harrison (Carrie), Janice Buckler (Morgan Salsman), Mitchell Theriault (Kaylee), Alex and Ian Oliver, Ashton and Ethan Baker-Spurr and; three great grandchildren Brady Harrison, Jade Salsman and Haley Theriault. Sister of Sandy (Betty) MacKay, New Glasgow, George MacKay (Jean), Bedford, Cecil (Sally), Antigonish Co., Marlene Maclean (Allan), Inverness Co. and Daniel Joseph (Marion), Spruce Grove, Alberta. Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her mother-in-law, Nina Rice, sister-in-law Marion Spurr and several brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, 11:00 am from St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Interment at a later date.
